Support Pharmacist
Clarity is recruiting a Pharmacist in an East Kildare Vaccine centre. This is a contracted role on a full or part time basis!

What you need to know:
This is a Contracted role, Within a few minutes drive of South Dublin. There is not late nights past 6pm involved in this role but some weekend work (Hours may change as time goes on). This is a non-vaccinating role, you will assist with the provision of vaccine in a centralised vaccination centre. The salary for this role follows the HSE pay scale. You will report to the Chief Pharmacist or designated officer

What you'll be doing (Includes but is not limited to):
  • assist with the receipt, checking and storage of goods received.
  • contribute to stock control including all consumables required for the vaccination program.
  • use aseptic technique to undertake dilution of vaccine when required
  • use aseptic technique to prepare vaccine doses for administration when required
  • Daily inventory management of all stores associated with vaccine distribution.
  • Ordering of additional consumables (not associated with vaccine packs) weekly (Thursday).
  • Daily distribution of IT equipment to vaccinators.
  • Distribution/maintenance and safe disposal of sharps containers, in line with infection control guidelines.
  • Collection/accountability/security and disposal of empty vaccine vials through the GS1 IT system.
  • Decontamination of vaccine trays in line with infection control measures.
  • Preparation of vaccine trays, as per specific vaccine requirements. (to include but not limited to: syringes, vaccine labels & vaccine tracing data form).
  • liaise with management and staff in matters of procedure or as when problems arise.
  • observe and report to the Supervisor any unusual situations, occurrences, conditions or complaints including those related to drugs, drug requests, drug usage or security within the centre

  • To have a working knowledge of the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) Standards as they apply to the role for example, Standards for Healthcare, National Standards for the Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associated Infections, Hygiene Standards etc and comply with associated HSE protocols for implementing and maintaining these standards as appropriate to the role.
What we require :
  • Registration with the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland. (PSI)
  • Accepting newly registered candidates.
