This evening we received the following important communication from the PDA that may apply to some of our locums. Please note - you do not have to be a member of the PDA to avail of the service detailed below.

Locum pharmacists without a regular place of work are especially likely not to be in the contact list of CCGs in England or Health Boards in Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland and thus may miss out on being vaccinated.
As you may have seen in the press, the PDA has launched a locum registration portal where any registered locum pharmacist can register their details. These details will be forwarded to local CCGs in England and the Health Boards in Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland who will then contact locums to arrange the vaccination. Our systems are already in place to forward the details of locums to the relevant persons in each geographical area.
This service is being provided free of charge to any pharmacist (who does not need to be a PDA member) and who is working/living within the UK.
The link for locum pharmacists to register is : https://www.the-pda.org/covid/locum-vaccinations/
We have had a good response since the launch of the free portal but there may still be locums that are unaware of this facility. We would be grateful if you could contact your registered locum colleagues informing them of this facility and ask them to register as soon as they can.
Thank you for your support.
Kind Regards,
Bharat Nathwani
