Are you an agency nurse who was lucky enough to live or travel overseas?
If you have lived or worked for 6 months or more in any country (after your 16th birthday) besides Ireland and Northern Ireland, as a requirement by HSE, you must send us international police clearance from each of these countries in order to work as agency nurse with Clarity Locums.
International police clearance is an essential document that verifies your criminal history, or lack thereof, and legal standing in a foreign country. This clearance is necessary to ensure the safety and security of individuals working in sensitive roles, such as healthcare professionals, who are often entrusted with the well-being of others.
The HSE mandates this requirement to ensure the safety and suitability of agency nurses working in Ireland. (If you have only lived or worked in Ireland, you will need to be Garda Vetted.)
Please see below more information about what this clearance must contain:
"At a minimum shall disclose details of any convictions spent or unspent, non-convictions and any proceedings pending in accordance with the respective jurisdictions justice system and such checks shall be equivalent to An Garda Síochána vetting. Such security clearance must be dated AFTER the person left that country and cover the entire period of their residence."
Obtaining international police clearance can be a complex process, as it varies from country to country. Below is a list of countries along with links to resources that can guide you through the process.
*Please note: If there is no online process available you will need to go through your embassy to obtain these records.
For countries not listed, please contact the Embassy of the country in which you resided for assistance: www.dfa.ie
