As International Nurses Day 2024 draws to a close, we are thrilled to celebrate the incredible stories and moments shared by our wonderful agency nursing community. Under the theme of "Empowering Nurses: Strengthening Healthcare Systems," we have been inspired and moved by the heartfelt submissions highlighting the dedication, resilience, and compassion that nurses embody every day.
We asked our current nurses to share their celebratory moments of them being a nurse, what lifted your spirits, what moment made you realise that this is why you love what you do!
After much deliberation, we are excited to announce the two winners of our special competition, each receiving a €250 “relax and unwind” voucher as a token of our appreciation.

“As a nurse, I have countless moments to celebrate in my career. I'd like to share a special one from last week. I was overjoyed when an elderly patient in her 80s made this for me as a token of appreciation for my work. She said, "Real angels exist."”
After being announced our winner, Jinson had some lovely words to say
“One of the unforgettable moments for me reading this mail. Proud to be a part of such a rewarding & caring agency Of course you can include my name for socials. I should have joined clarity earlier. Thank you & thank clarity's Fantastic team once again.”
Karen is an RGN, currently completing her compliance to work agency through Clarity Locums. She has over 10 years experience in various settings and Country’s.
“A highlight of my career was working in the rural Australian outback for a year from 2022-2023. The majority of my time in the outback consisted of looking after the local indigenous people, most of which had many comorbidities and illnesses. Living conditions for many of the local indigenous population was very poor.bed bugs was a huge issue and for many personal hygiene was unkempt. This led to many hospital presentations of infections, infected wounds etc.
As rural nurses we had to utilise resources as much as we could. critical thinking was paramount as services /equipment/resources were somewhat limited in comparison to large tertiary hospitals.
My evenings in the outback involved working as a volunteer in an outreach program called "feed the children" . We would drop food to the children in the communities who did not have enough money to eat. The children were so grateful for the food they received and would have big happy smiles and big waves.
Rural nursing made me even more grateful and thankful for the great career we work in.It is great to know we are making a difference to people's lives and trying our best to keep them safe.”
