So you’ve decided to take the leap into the wonderful world of agency nursing but you’re not quite sure where to begin. Let us help make your journey much easier by answering some FAQs on the agency nursing sign-up process. Our process is designed to be easy to make it seamless for our nurses!
You can create an account online or on our exclusive App Clarity Locums. In order to register you just need an email address, phone number and your NMBI pin. It’s a very quick process and once you are signed-up, one of our recruitment consultants will be in touch with you!
The app is very useful. Aside from noting your availability and booking shifts, you can use it for a number of different reasons. Firstly, you can use the app to keep track of your compliance documents. Under the ‘more’ section you can access ‘my documents’ where you can upload your mandatory training certificates. We also have a CPD hub where you can learn more and keep your nursing knowledge up to date. You can view permanent jobs on our app, view your bookings and earnings, view FAQs, donate to charity and much more.
Yes you can sign up at any time with no obligation to complete the onboarding. If you see shifts you are interested in you will not be able to apply for these until your mandatory training is uploaded.
The documents that need to be uploaded may vary in accordance to where the nurse is working - for example CIT nursing or mental health roles may require additional training certificates. Generally, the following documents are required on the nurse’s profile for compliance purposes: CV, Health screening form including vaccination status, contract of employment, Garda Vetting certificate, valid NMBI certificate, CPI crisis prevention, Safeguarding of Vulnerable adults, patient moving and handling, Basic Life support, Fire training, Infection control and hand hygiene, Fundamentals of GDPR, Dignity at work, Cyber security, Open disclosure, Children First.
If you are from outside the EU/EEA you can work as an agency nurse on a Stamp 4 visa but nurses on a stamp 1/critical skills permit cannot work as a locum nurse. We can happily take on nurses once they receive their Stamp 4 visas.
As a rule of thumb, one reference is sufficient but this may be changing shortly to three references. It is advised to provide both a phone number and email address for your reference and the reference needs to be a nurse manager. Always request permission in advance for us to contact the reference so that they are aware.
We hope this has answered any questions you may have on our sign-up process. As always, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact us through our website, email or phone and we will be more than happy to assist you with your queries.
